Meet 'The Conundrum'

Yes, that is what the medical types are now calling HRH. From that you can gather, correctly, that we still have no idea what is wrong with him. He had two skin biopsies this week and they were fine. We have had a Geneticist assess him, Infectious Diseases are due any day and he will be assessed for rare metabolic diseases by Endocrinology. I don't know if this means that cancer/cancer like diseases are off the cards now, I was too stupidly tired to ask at the time, but I will ask next week.

Meantime HRH is now in serious pain. He had a Cardiac Echo done on Tuesday and the technician pulled him down the bed by his legs. His mouth opened to scream in pain, but no sound came out. Yep, the silent screams are the worst! His blood pressure is now very high without pain medication and the poor little fella can't move his legs at all now.

On the plus side, he had a feeding tube inserted (on my request as he has lost so much weight) and in just two days it has done him the world of good. Look:

(warning, proud Mommy moment follows, but do look, it is lovely)

Blog Gems is being hosted by Blue Sky and will go live tomorrow, Sunday. Go over and join in!!

I had a blog post this past week titled Conundrum. Mine is so insignificant.

I really hope they find what's happening with HRH and help him. This has been going on for a ridiculously long time now.

The video was really cute! I'm glad he's feeling happy!

Ah Jen no wonder you are a proud mammy, he is a little dote and such a brave boy, I hate to hear he is in so much pain now, as for that technician that pulled his legs down give me the nod and I will go and see how they like it!! I really really hope that they hurry up and find out what this is and get to finally treat it. xxx

Oh Jen, so very gorgeous!

I had a week of an ill boy baffling the doctors, and I was terrified. I don't know how you cope with this ongoing fear.

I think of you a lot. And pray you get some answers soon.

Happy Mother's Day to one of the most incredible mums I know.

How terrible to read of your little one's pain -- and how brave you are to endure watching all of this, helpless. You are a strong and wonderful mother. I do hope that you get answers soon and that there is some kind of treatment, too. The video was precious -- what a bright and happy little boy!

My heart goes out to you. There is nothing worse than seeing your child in pain and not being able to do anything about it. And through all of that you get such a great moment like that video. I really hope you find a real "House" out there.

Ah Jen...this is lovely to watch... to see him smiling and looking happy :-) Lifts my heart.

Poor HRH... he really is a conundrum isn't he?!! I do wish these guys would come see him pronto...don't they know how many people are on tenderhooks...worldwide??!! And I could gleefully KILL that stupid technician!

Fingers crossed they get to the bottom of it this week. Insist that they do!

Brave little man. I've been so self absorbed with my own health issues, I've not taken the time to sit and really read what's going on over here. I'm deeply sorry, and humbled. You're going through so much.

I pray that there is relief, and answers soon for you and for HRH. Noone could deserve it more than that gorgeous, brave little man in that (adorable) video.

My love to you.
