Yep, HRH has the chicken pox! I wouldn't believe it only I can see the spots with my own eyes. We are in isolation at the hospital. Luckily he seems to have a mild dose and is in good form, just a little more sensitive and weepy than usual. The same could be said for me as I am finding isolation hard going, not being able to get HRH out for a walk or any kind of a break is wearing me down.
No news on a diagnosis for him. The last set of tests were for metabolic disorders and they came back clear. I have no idea what is next as we must have been through all the departments in the hospital at this stage. Nothing will happen this week as he is sick and, anyway, everyone is avoiding us.
I really want to say a big THANK YOU to Jean and everyone else who signed the 'E-card in blog form', it is fabulous, I love it and I love that you were all thinking of us. Still have something in my eye *coughs*

You have a solid community of support behind you! I wish I could say something new besides "I'm so sorry!", but really, I don't know what else I can say. I could say, "F***ing unbelievable!" It sucks he got the chicken pox NOW of all times. Try to hang in there, and remember you are loved and thought of often!
(((hugs))) Thinking of you and HRH often, hope there's some answers for you soon and that the Chicken Pox leaves asap xxxx
Oh my goodness - the poor little guy! I hope he is out of isolation soon.
What next? Bubonic plague? So sorry for the two of you, and your whole family for all you have been though. Hope you have answers soon, and that they are good ones! Love, V
I am so sorry that your guy got the chicken pox. Both my sons had it this spring -- hell for the older one and easy-peasy for the younger. I can't imagine being cooped up in isolation, though, and hope you'll get out soon! This is so vexing and frustrating, I'm sure, trying to get to the bottom of your son's symptoms. It blows my mind how "much" the science world knows yet how very little. Sending good thoughts your way, as always. Hang in there.
Jen, crappy timing. On a practical point, have you come across the new mousse that you use for chickenpox, it is wonderful, I used it on my son last year.
Are you tempted to go to Great Ormond Street Childrens hospital in London? It is supposed to be brilliant.
I'm so sorry to hear about this Jen...it's just one thing after another. I'll keep saying it but I hope you get some answers soon. I'm glad you got the virtual card and it made you smile - everyone loves you x
Oh that is just crap but maybe his immune system is so low at the moment. Bless him and you.
I'm also glad the virtual card has made you happy (or teary).
Remember its coz we all love you and are crossing fingers every day for HRH to get at least a diagnosis soon!
BNM
I would be going crazy and I promise to drop in with 'real' coffee and buns in the next couple of days if you're still stuck in there xxx
That is indeed 'poxy luck' Jen! We were goiing stir crazy when WiiBoy had it too but we were in the luxury of our own home. Hang in there hon.
Blue sky...lemme know when you're going in and maybe I can join you? I have a certain little something to give to Jen!
((xx)) Jazzy
I am so sorry to read this... hope you get a break from this soon.
Hope they find out about you little one really soon.
Agh it's one thing after another isn't it? :(
Hope they figure out what's going on soon. xx
He got chicken pox? In the hospital of all places? Sorry you have to deal with this too. Hopefully he will be on the mend from these soon. And hopefully some answers too.
Oh my gosh! Chicken pox - I can't believe it. You couldn't make it up could you! Fingers crossed he gets over it soon and it doesn't make him suffer too much x x x
Well, it's a good thing you were in isolation (said sarcastically). Chicken Pox?? For real?!?
Sigh.
Thinking of you!!!
Well why not chicken pox since you're already in the hospital, right? Holy cow, I don't know how you're standing. That poor kid!
Just when you thought life couldn't throw anymore at you. Shoulder to the wind and all that but FFS when when when will they get to the bottom of it. Your patience amazes me. Sending an extra virtual bucket of it for poxy back up xxx
sending a billion positive thoughts
I just read your tweets that you are out of hospital! Happy Day!
Still praying for full recovery to walking.
